Who would’ve thought that a cheap fibreglass bow would be so great? For its price, it’s a great addition. Great for technique building and great for backyard shooting.

Although this is labeled as a “youth” bow, this is not a toy for children. An archery instructor tried it and admitted it was a good bow. It is made of fiberglass, not plastic. Handle and tips are hard, very tough plastic — I don’t expect anything to break soon. I am a small guy and found it was somewhat heavy for a beginner. I wouldn’t try anything heavier just right now, I found it was quite my limit. I would recommend a lighter bow for a small woman or a young teen. It is painted forest green — I like the color, but if you don’t you can always repaint it. Don’t mind the string which comes with it, it is not a real bow string, it looks like a show lace. A 56″ dacron 14 works great. You will not find a better bow under $50.

Good value, however I’m a little disappointed on the durrability. As I shot my bow the paint is coming off from the arrow rubbing the bow shaft. They could of made it from a paint that was durable

This is only a bow, not a set. It does not include arrows, etc, despite being included in the images of the product. If you want just a bow, this looks fine, but if you wanted arrows and such use with it, then buy something else.

I have several bows, including sticks, compounds and recurves. I have started and ran an archery club for college students, and I’ve taught many people(adults and children both) to shoot. This bow is no frills, no nonsense, basic bow. It doesn’t shoot as fast or as flat as my high performance hunting bows, but it shoots. It is very lightweight, easy to string, easy to draw and tons of fun for backyard shooting. It isn’t for hunting, it isn’t for competitions. If you get one that has delaminated coating, like an earlier reviewer, I wouldn’t stand for that and immediately return it for one that isn’t defective. Mine arrived in perfect condition and has stood up to some heavy use and abuse. I will be looking to get some funding for my student archery club, with which I’ll buy about a dozen more of these(along with a few others) but this will be my workhorse bow for my students.
