   Our archery shot doesn’t work on crossbows, so when my husband ruined vanes on an arrow, we began looking for a DIY solution. Could not find the boil and wrap fletching longer than 3 inches, so we bought this rig, and 2 different color of 100 bohning vanes, and the gosszy.com recommended glue and stripper tool. Spouse practiced on a broken arrow first, and his vanes were harder to get back off than the ones that came on it! Worked perfect to fletch both crossbow bolts (the new Bohning cauldron fletching rig won’t), and regular arrows – he is a happy Hunter!

   Did 3 arrows and this thing would not put fletchings in same place. Very inconsistent. Fletchings would not stay in jig they would fall down about 3/16” when closing jig. Would not know it until you opened it to inspect arrow.

   You have to take you time with set up and make sure vanes are all in the slots at the right height but once you get the hang of it you can Fletch arrows with ease and the come out looking like they are factory fetched. 1 degree left works great for right handed bows.

   Nice piece of kit, but be aware that of the nine arms, six are for vanes, one is for crossbow, and only two are for feathers.

   For starters, I want to say that I really do like most Bohning products, but I’m amazed this hunk of cheap plastic carries their name on it. I should have known that there was going to be trouble with it when as soon as I opened the box, literally all the ziplock storage bags for parts, screws, accessories were all sealed at the top, but blown out at the bottom! Not sure how this happened, but chasing down loose screws and nuts right out of the gate was not fun. During my initial inventory of parts, I noticed that my particular jig was missing a set of arms, so I had to reach out to Bohning to see if they would send me a replacement set; not that it matters because I will be returning it anyway. The jig is poorly constructed and is made of extremely low quality plastic. I can tell you that the QA/QC on my set was non existent, so this thing never had a chance to actually be functional. The collars were ill-fitting, the arms had the slits for the vanes cut at different heights on the arm, so no matter what you would do, vanes wouldn’t index at the same place on your arrow shaft, no matter what. Heck, my set of 3degree Left offset arms were litterally different lengths, so once you screwed them in, one arm was noticably shorter than the others!!! With this design, vanes will never line up. I can see that this design is clever, and if all the parts were present on mine, the materials were a higher quality, and the QA/QC from the factory was remotely present, I may actually consider this again….. but for the time being, I’m down 36 Heat vanes that had to be cut off my shafts because of lack of contact between the fletching and the shaft at the base of the fletching due to the jig simply not operating properly. To the folks at at Bohning: you screwed me out of 36 Heat vanes and a wasted afternoon trying to limp across the finish line with a horrendously low quality product that was incomplete and poorly manufactured to say the least. You now owe me a pack of heat vanes and a 6 pack of beer for robbing me of a weekend evening….I intend to collect. To the folks at gosszy.com: thanks so much for offering Prime so that I can return this pile of junk and not get screwed out of $103 bucks. The folks at Bohning owe you a beer too.

   Decided to write a review and found it to be $45 cheaper than what I paid 2 weeks ago! If it’s under $60 right now, buy it.

   Assembly was not a problem. Some have struggled with holding the nuts in place while engaging the screws. Just use a little tape to hold the nut in its slot. I’ve done a bunch of my old arrows now and found the jig to be very simple and easy to use. I’ve only used 4″ plastic fletching at this point.

   I’ve been making my own arrows for almost 40 years, and have always used a Bitzenburger. I recently bought my first target bow and found myself having to repair/re-fletch a *lot* of arrows before I finally wised up and quit shooting the whole end at one target. 😉 This jig makes the job considerably faster and easier. Love it!

   Although I do agree with others that it wouldn’t kill them to include more fletch tapes to get you started, in reality if you clean them with a q-tip dipped in alcohol after each session they should last a reasonably long time. A+

    Best tool to Fletch arrows. Even when only one is damaged, easy to fix without touching other two. And 8 adapter’s give you excellent choice.

    This is a very extensive kit that will fletch any arrow that you have. The only problem I have is that two of the three small screws that hold the arms on are the wrong size for the nuts supplied and I have had to use the longer screws and spacers. This puts my flights higher than I wanted and it may be hard to source the right size and thread of replacement screws, some quality control would have been nice. Apart from that it is very good. Watching the instructions on YouTube is better than the poor instruction manual.
