   I bought this complex easy to adjust vise thinking it would be top of the line, newest option for setting up my bow. Well my room is small and attempting to move your bow into a side repair position and straight into a vertical alignment setting were just not happening. I had to take the bow off the vise, reposition the bow and then work on it. I returned this one and got the simple vise from OMP. It’s working great! Mount your bow and go.

   This vise is top of the line. OMP didn’t skimp on anything. The vise will hold a split-limb bow rock solid but also allows very precise adjustments to plumb your bow perfectly from front to back and from side to side. Makes it easy to really dial in adjustments like arrow rest and nock height, 1st and 2nd axis on your sight, etc. The base is very heavy and solid. It can be bolted directly to a work bench, but because the base is offset, it can also simply be clamped to a table or bench top using 1 or 2 clamps if you don’t have a dedicated space to mount it. It also allows you to lay your bow over 90 degrees for tying in nocks and peeps, etc. I bought this after seeing them in several bow shops and I didn’t need a collection of cheaper bow vises that just didn’t quite do what I needed. I’m happy to say I’m very pleased with this vise. I did knock off one star due to the price. OMP made a premium product here though. I can’t really blame them for charging a premium price.

   Love the versatility of the vise. The bad thing is one of the micro tuning springs sticks really bad. I thought it just needed time to break in but it’s not seeming that way. When tightening it works fine, but if you go too far and need to back it off then you are out of luck. The spring sticks and you have to grab and pry to get it to let loose and then start all over. It’s a nice vise but if you have this happen send it back and make them send you a new one. I probably waited too long on mine thinking it was going to resolve itself.
