   The bow itself is beautiful for the price. It shoots nice. Minimal hand shock, although this is my first bow so I’m not sure what is considered bad hand shock. Arrows are.. okay. The sleeve on the fletching to help protect the bottom comes off pretty easily. Not a huge deal. The tips do loosen a little. I’d recommend checking they are tight every few shots, especially if you miss the target and hit something solid. Shafts have held up well. The arm guard is okay. It’s a little narrow, as I have fat forearms. It also has an elbow guard, which for the most part is not needed for me. I had to cut it down to fit better.

   My only real issue is personal. I would have preferred the X8 recurve I think. I like the longbow, but just overall ease, I would’ve gone with a 30# recurve instead of the longbow. Unfortunately, everything has been used so I figure I’m stuck with it now.

   Edit: My issue is simply that I underestimated storing a 68” longbow in my apartment.. if you buy this, make sure you have a wall you can hang it up on. Mine is currently sitting in front of my tv in a cedar chest.

   Update 2: Sanlida sent me 2 D97 replacement strings, but, unfortunately, the quality was not any better. It seems that the intended design is for the ends to be lightly held in place with wax. All of the other Flemish twist strings I’ve used have the ends braided into the string so they don’t fray. Update: After reading my review, Sanlida reached out and asked if they could remedy the situation. I told them I would be happy with my purchase if they could simply replace the string that was already frayed (both ends) upon arrival. They informed me that fraying at the ends was normal for Flemish twist strings, even upon arrival, and recommended that I look around for other strings if I was not happy with the one I received. I use Flemish twist strings on my recurve bows and have never seen one arrive in this condition or reach this condition without extended use. The quality of the bow itself was decent enough for the price, and I was excited that the Flemish twist came standard, but the string had already begun unraveling on both ends by the time the bow arrived. I paid for a kit and received a mid-quality starter bow with no string.

   Seems like a quality bow for the price, but unfortunately, you’re not able to shoot it more than one time. I tried reversing the string and still will not seat. In all honesty, slightly on the dangerous side for 45 pounds of pressure

   Beautiful bow. Take off the leather hand guard and it’s even better. For the price you can’t beat it and accessories it comes with. After shopping around for a month I chose this bow over several higher priced options and I’m so glad I did. I normally shoot a Bear Grizzly recurve at 40#. This feels a touch lighter than 40# but doesn’t matter it’s just fun to shoot. I’ve shot Easton Legacy, Black Eagle Vintage, and Gold tip traditional arrows with this bow and all performed well.
