Having mastered the thumb release I wanted to move on the a Hinge…. tried a few times on the bow and had so many misfires and a couple of punches to the chest and head I wanted something a little more realistic than a shoe string … SO This arrived earlier than I expected… took a few pulls with my thumb release to set it at the right length….After quite a few tries I could see where I was going wrong and could practice drawing without fear of loosing an arrow or dry firing the bow.. Its set at aprox 29 lbs less than half my draw weight but it get you to place your hand in the correct position to draw…….and draw back …. After two days I am improving but not quite ready for the bow I want to have a higher percentage of drawing without miss firing . My wife has one on order now and its good to practice with too with thumb releases and trigger…

I bought this for practice and it serves that purpose. And overall it seems a well made product. But the handle is poorly designed. It is shaped in an odd fashion angling rearward unlike any bow I’ve ever shot. It’s uncomfortable and makes for awkward unstable grip. A normal bow like handle would be much appreciated. I think I can do better with a broom handle and a couple of hose clamps!

Is what the product described but not what I expected. Bought this to help with target panic but doesn’t simulate a bow well enough

I’m working on my back tension and my thumb releases with this nightly. Works great and you can do it anywhere you want. Just grab your release and this and you can sit and watch tv and practice.
Pros:
– Adjustable length works great.
NOTE: I’m just under 28″ so the grip is slid back into the “Firing Line” label just an fyi.
– Cable is nice for a release, fits well and is a big loop
– Seems to work perfectly every time I release
Cons:
– The grip is more like a pistol grip rather than a bow riser grip
Haven’t tried the weight that you can add to the bottom of the grip, not sure I’d need that.

This is a good tool to practice with your release. No more shooting an arrow though your furniture when testing your release and technique indoors (and yes it has happened to me once). I bought it to practice with my new back tension release that requires a lot of hours of practice to get right. The trainer appears sturdy and when released the loop and cable spool back inside the device slowly enough not to whip you in the arm. The handle can be adjusted by unscrewing the two top screws and sliding along the tube to adjust for different draw lengths. As you can see in the picture the handle is sturdy but is tipped at a rather sharp angle that probably won’t please everyone. One thing that was not evident to me when I ordered this is that the company makes three strengths of this item. I received the M (around 27 to 29 pounds of pull). There are two more models each of which has a successively heavier pull. The comany also makes a version of this for finger shooters with a much bigger “loop”. I am satisfied with the trainer but time will tell if it holds up to steady use.

After giving up archery, I used the Firing Line as part of my daily exercise regime. After nearly ten years, the cord finally book, so this is a replacement. Outwardly identical, it is much stiffer and harder to pull than the original. Hopefully it will ease with time and I suppose my old one had really worn out. So, a slight disappointment simply because it is so much less smooth in operation than the original, but it appear to be the only game in town, so I will persevere. Easy to put together and adjust for draw length and seems to be the same good quality assist predecessor. Expensive in U.K.

Probably its best use is to test various releases before buying one. As far as improving your form and release technique, you can only do that by actual shooting.

Great device but most comments said it was the heavier version one. I like it and it will work enough but disappointed it wasn’t the heavier firing one. It is only 28-30.
