This is a take down bow for hunting and not general archery, with the draw weight being high. I’ve tried to order a longer bow string, but keep being sent a string …. x to y in length, insted of lenght y I wanted

I love the bow but was dismayed when I strung the bow that I bought with a 50 pound string only to find out it was about 15-20 pounds. I took it to the club my buddies there told me I got ripped off and should ask for the right string. After initiating this in an gosszy.com return it occurred to me that maybe in a recurve you control string tension by twisting the string. What do yah know it turned out that is exactly how it’s done then wax it. I recommend you get the proper info before doing this yourself as the string should be a certain distance from the notch for accurate tensioning. What?! I am a compound bow guy I totally got burned by my buds! I did eventually figure it out. I do love the bow. It is a beautiful bow especially a beginner to the long bow. I would recommend that the manufacturer send instructions on proper tension as it is different not just by string or manufacturer but also by bow. So I give it five thumbs up especially since most people thought I paid a bit over $300. 🤣. Using this bow you will start to develop preferences when you are ready to upgrade if you plan to go bigger. Otherwise this bow can be adapted to your preferences and is capable of bringing down a deer. Have fun.

I saw quite a few reviews on YouTube that made this both seem special. I didn’t find anything wrong with the bowl but I also didn’t find anything special. Beautiful bowl to look at, and the price unbelievable. Good bowl. Just nothing special

When I assembled the bow I found that both limbs were twisted right out of the box. There was also a visible gap between the bottom edge of the upper limb and the riser. Between the limb twist and the gap I felt the bow was unsafe to use and returned it. In addition to the structural issues there were also multiple blemishes and abrasions in the finish of the riser.

Got this for my first recurve after watching YouTube videos. I’ve shot compound bows a lot but I like the more traditional way. For the price you can’t beat it. I added some string silencers and a knock other than that this is a pretty fun bow. Exceeded my expectations

Video Disclaimer: I’m fairly new so I haven’t been practicing form or aim, more just trying to get the feel of the bow and understand the aiming-situation.

Like everyone has said before me the bow is really good! The string is so far of no problem either, though it took someone much stronger and bigger than me to even be able to string the bow in the first place…
I’m very happy I didn’t just impulsively buy the set because it comes with fibreglass arrows and what you should have is carbon.
These arrows are 30inches 400 carbon fibre. That’s essentially what a 40lbs bow should have, from what I can tell. But I won’t recommend these arrows as I haven’t been shooting long enough to know if they’re well made or not.
It’s a surprisingly heavy pull but I also got a bow that’s heavy enough for hunting so I did it to myself, the bow itself isn’t heavy at all yet feels sturdy.
The rest; quiver, arm guard, glove, and silencers (orange fluff on the string) are all homemade. So those I just made with some leather and fabric I had laying around😊

The packaging was perfect and there was not a blemish on it. All of the fittings were flush too. I bought the 50lb draw model. I have not shot a recurve for 19 years and I was so accurate with this thing I was amazed! What a bow. I am totally satisfied with this product!

For the money I just can’t complain. It not only looks nice, but handles very well. Simple to put together as well.

I have to admit I was skeptical about this purchase but after 6 months of shooting I am happy with it. I have been in archery for 45 years and was looking for a good target practice re curve for a while. I did not want to pay $500.00 but was leary about these cheap bows that I see advertised. I bought one, tuned it, used it, and like it. It fits my need very well. Makes a 80 yard shot very routine.

Better finishing than my Samick Sage. Very smooth draw by comparison. Looks great in the pictures, but looks better in real life. Add some limb pads and string silencers and you’ll have a quiet bow too.
Update after 1 year:
I still love this bow, however at longer ranges I am much more inconsistent accuracy wise compared to other bows. I’ve come to realise how much light weight, a short riser, and very little deflex (sub 10mm!) makes for a very unforgiving bow.
If you are having an off day with your form, this bow will let you know about it!
With this in mind, if you are new, get a Samick Sage.

It’s not quite a 60 inch recurve (58”) but it is very smooth, doesn’t stack (even with my 29.5 inch draw) has a good grip and shoots where you point it! It also had a functional string with enough serving to shoot 3 under. The sight window and shelf are radiused and the riser is cut to center. These are all important when you are shooting off the shelf. Which, by the way, is the only way you can shoot this bow as there are no rest or sight holes drilled into the riser. It does come with some shelf protection material and a “leather” side plate but they are not of high quality. But, for 5 bucks you can get some Bear Hair and a real leather side plate and be good to go. This bow from Top Archery is basically the same bow you can get from multiple companies here on gosszy.com (Black Hunter) so shop around for the best price. Overall, Top Archery had the best price for this bow and I liked their more natural wood color. Super inexpensive and super fun to shoot!
