   The tightening locking mechanism works great. Easy on, easy off. Full disclosure: I’ve been shooting with $20 finger release previously. I never had any issues so why change. But the release is very smooth and feels so much better. Edit: release failed. Miss fires were happening too often. Threw away

   Tru Glo Detonator has it all and More! I ordered this the minute I saw it. then true to form, gosszy.com delivered it first thing the next morning! This single jaw (single hook really) is perfect for D loop shooters, either soft loops or ridged loops, The trigger is fully adjustable and an ultra light trip can be achieved, but I’m using mine set just about where it came from the factory. I love the location of the trigger, it is right behind the bow string so this release does not mess up your draw length. The trigger trips crisply, you feel the trigger, think, GO, and your arrow is GONE! The mechanism is fully adjustable to fit your hand, it folds and locks out of the way, when you want, AND the BOA lacing to your hand is the BEST! No velcro, no clumsy buckle! I have a pair of boots with the BOA system, and you can’t beat it! slip your hand in the cuff, press the BOA knob, then turn the knob to tighten it up! to take your hand out pull the knob up, pull the cuff open and take your hand out! The Detonator has ALL other releases beat, no matter what the cost and it is priced at about half what other high end releases are priced at! Do yourself a favor, GET ONE OF THESE!

   Boa strap is great. Single jaw has a great internal release system. I thought maybe when you pulled the trigger it opened the jaw in some sort of spring fashion but that is not the case. The single jaw is a free floating hook that once the trigger pulls past an adjustable point, the hook becomes free swiveling and completely releases any resistance. So if you were to pull the trigger open, you can play with the free floating single jaw hook as it just swivels freely. Nice set up. The only issue I have is that I am a lefty and my D loop naturally bends to the right. So it’s hard for me to get the single jaw on the D loop currently without taking my thumb and pushing the D loop lack left. Not a release issue but I will probably take the D loop down to the left with hopes that it naturally bends the other way at some point. If it doesnt stay, I’ll replace the D loop.

   BOA system broke during draw back. This was a great product, until the BOA system catastrophically failed during my draw. I have used this release for around 8 months up to this point. After some initial headache, truglow provided great customer service sending a replacement quickly. I keep it as a backup now, I don’t have much trust in the boa not failing again

   I am very disappointed in this product. The first day I used it the O-ring broke in 30 shots. They do provide a replacement, so I put that on and it is still there. But, after every shot the release gets locked back and has to be manually replaced after every shot! This takes a lot of time. I have only shot about 60 total arrows since getting this. Because I was travelling and busy I missed the return window otherwise I would have returned it. Maybe this one is just bad, I don’t know. The wristband is actually pretty cool. The overall design seems good, but it really does not hold up.

   I’ve been wanting to try a single jaw release this upcoming season, as I’ve been using double jaw releases from various manufacturers for the past few seasons, however I decided to buy the TruGlo Detonator on a whim. I spent some time today getting trigger resistance and length of trigger pull dialed in and so far I’m impressed. I really like the BOA tightening system. Simply push the button down and turn clockwise to tighten. Pull the button up for a quick, single action release. No strap buckle that is too long or too short of your sweet spot, and while the button DOES make clicking sounds as you tighten, it’s still a lot quieter than a loud a** velcro pull. The main assembly of the release also swings up or down, so you can keep it out of the way when you need your drawing hand to do something. Build quality is really good and seems on par for the price point. All-in-all, I feel that the detonator is a good value for the money and with the BOA system, it’s an above average competitor in this price range. Interested to see the durability of the BOA system over time.

   This is truly an awesome release. I actually bought 2. One for myself, and one for my wife. She loves the release about as much as I do! It’s comfortable and easy to use. The Boa wrist system is great if you have small hands or wrists like we do. Just twist the knobs until the strap is snug and you’re ready to shoot!

   Overall very impressed with this release. Nice crisp trigger. The boa strap works great. For under $90 you can’t go wrong. It’s an older design but they were onto something when they designed it.

   I own much more expensive releases that don’t work this good.
